Our Beautiful Logo
Created with love from one of my very clever and oh so beautiful friends Valerie Gilbert. (@ricevalley)
It has been such a wonderful experience working with this wonderfully artistic and creative woman. With a Pinterest board full of all my ideas and fancies for guidance Valerie set out to create some magic, and oh boy, what magic she has indeed!!!
Everything in our new logo has a story behind it. A few of my favourite flowers, the paeonie so lush and full of delicate beauty. Gloriosa lilies another all time favourite that always make me think of my time in Wellington working for Manuela, a wonderful inspiration and a woman I now count among my dearest friends. The dahlia a special flower always found in the gardens of my Mumzie and her sisters. The Kahikatea leaf and berry represent my all time favourite New Zealand native tree, well one of them at least! The eucalyptus leaf and bloom, another of my favourites for so many reasons, the top two being the form and texture so dainty and beautiful the other being its winter season of flowering. The bell bird or Korimako, such a special creature with the most beautiful song, found in most parts of New Zealand always with a slightly different call. The pheasant feathers, another reminder of home and my roots. The pheasants would come and eat the acorns from the trees around our property. I used to love catching glimpses of them under the trees. The beautiful antlers, the crowning jewel that ties it all together are a reminder of another creative, a potter friend of my parents who influenced my path many years ago when he would show me feathers and flowers and ask me to look into them and tell him what I saw. To you Hugo I am truly greatful and only slightly gutted that you are no longer here to see in the flesh the creative you inspired in me.
